ATHENS — Erika Kirk did not attend Turning Point USA’s event here Tuesday after receiving unspecified threats, according to a spokesperson for the conservative group.

The event, which included Vice President JD Vance, nonetheless went ahead in this Georgia college town.

“I love Erika and she did get some threats. About two hours ago I was worried that we were going to have to cancel the event,” Vance told the audience.

Erika Kirk is the CEO of Turning Point USA and the widow of Charlie Kirk, the group’s founder, who was fatally shot last September by a rooftop sniper while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.

Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for the group, did not specify the nature of the threat against Erika Kirk or share any additional details immediately.

Tuesday’s event near the University of Georgia is part of the group’s “This Is The Turning Point Tour,” which is scheduled to visit five college campuses across the country. UGA is its second stop.
